This course provides participants with insight into creative communication and teaching methods for students with intellectual disabilities. The focus is on the application of multimedia tools, including video modeling, picture schemes, assistive technology, and other innovative methods. Through theoretical and practical sessions, participants will gain skills for using these tools in educational settings to enhance the learning process for students with intellectual disabilities.

Day 1: Introduction and Preparation
- Arrival of participants
- Welcome meeting: Introduction to participants and the course program
- Presentation of the course objectives and trainers
- City tour of Zagreb: Introduction to cultural landmarks, including Gornji Grad, the Cathedral, and Ban Jelačić Square
Day 2: Introduction to Communication and Teaching Methods
- Lecture: Understanding intellectual disabilities and their impact on learning and communication
- Lecture: Creative methods and approaches to teaching students with intellectual disabilities
- Workshop: Introduction to picture schemes: Design and application in education
- Practical exercises: Developing and using picture schemes in an educational environment
- Excursion: Visit to a museum or cultural center in Zagreb, depending on participant interests. Please be aware that entrance fees to museums and other locations are not included in the course fee and will require additional payment for participants who wish to join.
Day 3: Video Modeling and its Application
- Lecture: The theory of video modeling and its role in educating students with intellectual disabilities
- Workshop: Creating video models: Planning, filming, and preparation
- Workshop: Applying video modeling in the classroom: Case studies and practical exercises
- Visit to a local school: Exchange experiences with colleagues and discuss the application of video modeling in education
Day 4: Assistive Technology
- Lecture: Introduction to assistive technology: Tools and resources for supporting students with intellectual disabilities
- Practical exercises: Implementation of assistive technologies in educational activities
Day 5: Creative Methods for Relaxation and Connection
- Lecture: Various creative methods: From play to art
- Workshop: Integrating play and art into teaching students with intellectual disabilities
- Workshop: Developing customized educational materials: Interactive games
- Group work: Creating educational materials for specific learning objectives
Day 6: Implementation and Evaluation
- Workshop: Evaluation and adaptation of methods: Feedback and collective analysis
- Visit to an educational center or institution: Exchange experiences and explore practical examples
Day 7: Final Day and Evaluation
- Presentation of final works: Display and analysis of educational materials and methods developed during the course
- Discussion: Feedback and collective evaluation of the course
- Certificate ceremony: Formal awarding of certificates for course completion
- Final meeting: Reflection on the course and plans for implementing the acquired knowledge in participants’ schools
- Exchange of ideas and future collaboration: Networking and planning future projects among participants
