This course offers participants an opportunity to develop creative skills and tools for using multimedia and video production in the classroom. Through practical workshops held in a school studio, participants will learn how to utilize video to create educational short films. The goal is to equip educators with the skills necessary for independent video production, including filming, editing, and post-production of video lessons.

Day 1: Introduction and Preparation

  • Arrival of participants
  • Welcome meeting: Introduction to the participants and course program
  • Presentation of the course objectives and instructors
  • Walking tour of Zagreb city center

Day 2: Media Literacy and Education

  • Lecture 1: The importance of media literacy in education
  • Lecture 2: Identifying misinformation and fake news
  • Workshop 1: Practical exercises on analyzing media content
  • Visit to Park Maksimir: Introduction to the natural and cultural heritage of Zagreb

Day 3: Digital Content Creation

  • Lecture 3: Introduction to digital production: From concept to creation
  • Workshop 2: Basics of photography and videography using cameras and drones
  • Workshop 3: Planning and shooting an educational short film: Scenario preparation

Day 4: Multimedia in Education

  • Full-day Workshop 4: Filming educational short films in a school studio
  • Workshop on copyright: Legal use of media content in education

Day 5: Editing and Post-Production

  • Workshop 5: Review of filmed material and group discussion
  • Workshop 6: Video editing using software tools
  • Workshop 7: Post-production: Adding sound, captions, and effects

Day 6: Cultural Tour of Zagreb

  • Full-day excursion exploring the historic and cultural sites of Zagreb. Please be aware that entrance fees to museums and other locations are not included in the course fee and will require additional payment for participants who wish to join.

Day 7: Final Day and Evaluation

  • Presentation of final works: Display and analysis of educational short films produced during the course
  • Feedback and group discussion on the course outcomes
  • Certificate ceremony and course conclusion
